Who publishes this site
Content is published and maintained under the My 530A Account organization name. We do not claim professional tax, legal, investment, or government credentials. The site is independent and is not affiliated with the IRS, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the official account administrator, the Dell Foundation, or any employer or sponsor we mention.
Source hierarchy
We use primary sources whenever they are available. Federal statutes, IRS guidance and forms, Treasury announcements, the official federal portal, and official program support materials take priority. For ZIP-level demographic estimates, we use U.S. Census Bureau data. Company, foundation, and state-program claims are checked against an announcement from the named organization or a government source. News coverage may help us find a development, but it does not replace the underlying source when one exists.
How guides are produced
Each guide starts with the user question it is meant to resolve. We compare the relevant primary materials, separate confirmed rules from estimates or unsettled implementation details, and link readers to the controlling source. We avoid presenting a proposal or announcement as an active benefit. When official materials do not answer a question, we say so instead of filling the gap with an unsupported conclusion.
How calculators are tested
Calculator math runs in the visitor's browser. Pages show the central formula or decision rules, the assumptions that affect the result, and important omissions. We test boundary values such as zero contributions, the annual contribution limit, eligibility-window endpoints, and the age-18 transition. Calculator results are estimates, not individualized recommendations, and actual tax or investment outcomes may differ.
Review dates and updates
The date labeled “Program rules reviewed” means the shared rule set and its primary sources were checked on that date. It does not mean every external page changed that day. Material changes are recorded in the program updates log. We update affected explanations and calculator rules when authoritative guidance changes, and we preserve uncertainty where implementation is still developing.
Advertising and independence
Advertising does not determine which programs, companies, or account options we cover. We do not accept payment for rankings, do not sell financial products, and do not receive account-provider referral fees. Ads are kept away from error pages, legal pages, private or user-specific results, and controls where an ad could be confused with a site action.
Corrections and contact
If you find a factual error, broken source, calculator problem, or unclear disclosure, send the page URL and a short explanation below. Useful correction reports identify the exact statement and, when possible, link to the controlling source. We review good-faith reports, correct verified errors, and note material rule changes in the updates log.
